The January 15-Minute Daily Challenge is underway! For more background on the January 15-Minute Daily Challenge and understanding what transpired in Week One click HERE.
How the January 15-Minute Daily Challenge Works
Each week I will announce a new 15-minute daily challenge that you will do for one week. By the end of the week, this new challenge will become a routine. The next week you will be given a new 15-minute daily challenge. Each new challenge is meant to add on a new habit. By the end of January, you will have four new 15-minute habits. But you have the choice to continue each habit, swap out for the new one each week, or build on.
- Week One: January 3-7, Habit 1
- Week Two: January 10-14, Habit 1 & 2
- Week Three: January 17-21, Habit 1, 2, & 3
- Week Four: January 24-28, Habit 1, 2, 3 & 4

Week Two: Quiet Time
As a mom, I have noticed the importance of quiet time not just for my son but for myself. It is so easy to rush through the day only to collapse in front of the TV for a couple of hours and off to bed. What we are lacking is any sort of mental self-development.
Personal development is just that, personal! This is the time to self-evaluate. Where do you need to grow? Do you need to build confidence? Do you need to build on consistency? Do you need to build on motivation? Do you need to spend more time focusing on your faith?
Problem: I have numerous unlistened to personal development audiobooks, devotionals, unstreamed meditations, and my bible collecting dust in a corner of the bookshelf. Then I wonder why on particularly hard days I have trouble finding ways to manage the stress of motherhood, building a business, being a good wife… just life.
The Challenge: Commit to 1 personal development book, podcast, devotional, bible study, etc. to spend 15 minutes each day.
Supplies: your reading/listening materials and a peaceful spot in your home.
The Process: Pick a time each day to have your quiet time. Do you need to wake up earlier? Do you need to turn off the TV 15 minutes earlier? Can you commit to a daily walk with your kids and have your audiobook in your ear? Do you need to prioritize a break from work? What time makes the most sense in your day? This time can change but for 1 week I challenge you to pick a consistent time to have for your quiet time. Set a reminder on your phone or calendar. When that time pops up, go to your peaceful spot of your home, set your 15-minute timer, and dive into the material you selected.
Bonus Challenge: Keep at your Week One – Habit 1: Decluttering/Cleaning (more details here). This is an additional habit we are adding into our day. These 2 tasks can be done in one 30-minute block or broken out during your day into two 15-minute blocks. That part is up to you.

I would be so curious to hear how spending just 15-minutes per day in quiet time bettering yourself impacts your overall mentality throughout the day.
